Buenos Aires-based Humand has secured $66 million in Series A funding co-led by Kaszek and Goodwater Capital to scale its mobile-first AI platform designed for the 2.7 billion workers worldwide who don't sit at desks — including factory workers, retail staff, healthcare workers, and field service technicians.

The Deskless Worker Gap

Despite representing roughly 80% of the global workforce, deskless workers have historically been underserved by enterprise software, which is typically designed for knowledge workers with laptops and stable internet connections. Humand addresses this gap with a mobile-first platform that uses AI to coordinate shift scheduling, task assignment, safety compliance, training, and internal communications — all accessible through a smartphone app designed for intermittent connectivity and one-handed use.

AI-Powered Operations

Humand's AI layer automates several operational functions that typically require manual coordination: predicting staffing needs based on historical patterns and external factors (weather, events, demand forecasts), automatically generating and distributing shift schedules that comply with labor regulations, routing urgent communications to the right workers based on skills and location, and providing just-in-time training through AI-generated microlearning modules. The platform supports voice-based interactions for workers whose hands are occupied.

Latin American Expansion

Kaszek's participation signals Humand's focus on Latin American markets, where deskless workers represent an even larger share of the workforce than in developed economies. The company plans to use the funding to expand across Latin America, where it already serves customers in manufacturing, retail, and healthcare. The broader vision is a global platform for deskless workforce management — a market that Humand estimates at $50 billion annually, currently served primarily by paper-based processes and basic scheduling software.
